Electric kettle recipes

Hostel friendly recipes

Steamed vegetables: Pour water into the electric kettle and bring it to a boil. In a heat-safe bowl, add the chopped vegetables (such as broccoli or cauliflower), then pour the boiling water over them. When the vegetables are ready, cover the bowl with a plate or lid and allow steam for a few minutes.

Rice and beans: Put a portion of rice and enough water to cover it by about an inch in a heat-safe bowl. The rice should be soft after 10 minutes in the microwave. Add a can of rinsed and drained beans after draining any extra water. To taste, add salt and pepper.

Making Instant Soup: To create instant soup, simply pour boiling water over a packet of soup mix in a kettle. The soup won't be ready for a few minutes, so let it sit.

Oatmeal: A serving of oats should be placed in a heat-safe bowl, and boiling water should be added to cover. The oats should be cooked in the microwave for two to three minutes. As desired, top with extras like nuts, fruit, or honey.

Cheese on a grill: Wrap a sandwich (made with cheese and bread) in aluminium foil while the iron is heated to the highest setting. To melt the cheese and toast the bread, place the foil wrap on the iron and press down for a few minutes.

Instant Noodles: Place a serving of instant noodles in a heat-safe bowl and pour boiling water over the noodles. Cover the bowl with a plate or lid and let sit for a few minutes until the noodles are cooked. Add the seasoning packet and mix well.
